DNA ReplicationDNA is a twisted strand that is in the shape of a double helix. The chemicals Guanine, Cytosine, Thymine, and Adenine make up the helix structure. Guanine binds with Cytosine and Adenine binds with Thymine. The various combinations of hydrogen bonds between pairs make up the DNA.In replication, enzymes break down the two strands from each other. Protein then initiate a strand copy. This process is called the replication fork. For further information, please visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNA_replication SignificanceScientists have been able to replicate other organisms. For example, many drugs can be synthesized through DNA replication. If you find something good, take the genetic material and use it for reproduction. |
