Human Longevity

Most of us would like to extend our lifespan.  The study of longevity is thought to have the ability to greatly increase life expectancy.

The problem is that society and government hasn’t really got behind longevity studies.  Maybe it’s because they are worried about social security.

Gerontologists think that there is a chemical in our cells that makes us age.  They believe that if they turn the chemical off that you will be able to live much longer.

One main study of longevity showed that caloric consumption of low calorie nutrient dense foods can increase longevity by a lot.  In the mouse studies, lifetimes were increase by 50%.

If longevity was studied and funded like computers, some gerontologists believe that a 1000 year lifespan is in the not too distant future.  And, within 20 years, humans could live an additional 30 years.
