Nuclear PropulsionTo go very far into space, we need a spaceship with superior propulsion. Current systems are not going to get us to go fast enough or reliably enough. That is why NASA is currently researching nuclear propulsion for the mission to mars planned in 2019. The federal government set aside 11 million dollars for NASA to study the subject.As John McCain said, “We have been using nuclear subs for many years.” Nuclear technology is not new and has the capability of generating tremendous energy.
