Offline Web ApplicationsThe web is starting to take over the distribution of all computer software applications. Companies are trying to create better and better software applications that you can use offline, but that will also be seamless with the web. This is one reason Microsoft tried to buy Yahoo. They reason that their operating system will one day be at risk from offline web applications.One of the main points of offline web applications is that much of the web software out there only works when you are online; companies want to change it so that the application works both on and offline. This is what scares some of the software manufacturers. |
