Theory of Relativity

The theory of relativity created by Albert Einstein has two parts: specific and general.

Specific

In the specific theory, 1- The speed of light travels the same speed for all observers regardless of their speed and 2- Physics is the same for all observers regardless of their speed.

The conclusions drawn from these two facts are time dilation, light length contraction, mass energy equivalence (E=MC^2), and relativity of simultaneity.

It is clear scientists agree with Einstein, but most don’t understand the theory because few can explain what it really means.  Most of them simply regurgitate Einstein’s explanations, but scientists believe the theory because it actually works.

General Theory

The general theory has to do with gravity. Einstein describes gravity as the geometric curvature of space and time.  For example, the earth’s gravitational pull is actually caused by a curvature in space.  Matter is then pushing the earth around the sun.
