My Story
When he was nine, Scott completed a hike in the Gobi Desert, which took him three days and the whole distance was 72 kilometers long in total. The experience in Gobi inspired him to strive for things he consistently wants and to never give up. Even though his team members were all young, they were still the first to reach the destination. The spirit of this experience had a profound impact on him, which he distilled and applied towards subsequent experiences and matters, reminding him not to give up in tough situations. Scott demonstrated this indomitable spirit to calligraphy, a traditional Chinese art. He studied calligraphy when he was seven years old. However, due to several issues, he did not persist in his studies. Nevertheless, after the experience he encountered in the Gobi, he made up his mind to resume the progress. Six years later, he finished his proudest work - copying the entire Lantingji Xu (蘭亭集序) and got remarkable awards after that.
Currently within school, Scott is actively engaged in the subjects of Computer Science, History and Economics. Besides, he also attended many competitions in writing, sports and programming. He is keen on cycling, cross country as well as track and field. Outside of school, Scott did a lot of volunteering work. He is a registered National Library Board (NLB) student volunteer. This summer, he will go to Adobe for an internship. Programming is always his passion. He attended NOI (Chinese National Olympiad Information) as well as the Lanqiao Cup, gaining numerous and remarkable achievements. Music is a part of his life as well. He plays guitar and is going to have some performances in the near future.
Looking ahead, Scott aims to take advantage of his passion and knowledge in computer science and programming to design amazing video games and applications, so as to contribute for the whole society through education and innovation.
